“Septic Systems: A Homeowner's Guide” is a four clock hour class designed to help real estate professionals understand how various types of septic systems work and how system effectiveness and longevity are affected by homeowner use and maintenance.

·        The causes of system failure and how to minimize risk of failure.

·        The maintenance necessary to keep systems healthy and functioning properly.

·        Pressure distribution systems: How they work and why they are used.

·        Alternative systems: mounds, sand filters, aerobic units and the Glendon Biofilter.

·        New state guidelines for subsurface drip systems and greywater disposal.

Each person attending will receive a note-taking outline and a packet of informational handouts.  DOL approved clock hour certificates will be provided by Washington State University Cooperative Extension.
