  Master Gardener Program

Public education is the primary objective of our WSU Master Gardener Program. We host Plant Diagnostic Clinics in the community throughout the year. We also teach sound gardening techniques and work with youth in 4-H and in the classroom. Please visit our Grays Harbor WSU Master Gardener Foundation website for more information.

Master Gardener Projects Include:

How to Become a Master Gardener:
The Master Gardener program involves volunteer education and community outreach. At the completion of the 60-hour training program, "intern" Master Gardeners fulfill their commitment by performing 60 hours of community service during the ensuring year. To remain active, Master Gardeners must complete 25 hours of community service annually and 25 hours of continuing education.

In the Grays Harbor and Pacific County Program there are over 120 active WSU Master Gardeners. Training sessions for new Master Gardeners are held every other year, in the fall. WSU Master Gardener training for 2008 will begin September 23 through October 30. Classes will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays. For more information or to be put on the mailing list for an application, contact the Extension Office at 360-482-2934 or e-mail Don Tapio .
