Aquatic Pest Control

A Comprehensive Unified Spartina Control Program is being developed through WSU Long Beach. Shorebird habitats that are critical for Grays Harbor are rapidly being destroyed by the invading Spartina, and good baseline data of shorebird usage is critical for showing what type of control provides the best possiblility of restoration.

Educational training progarms are held annually dealing with Spartina, including aquatic pesticide license training and testing, safety training and educational boat tours for federal agency staff and congressmen, state legislators and congressional staffers.
